Jordan Wosnick
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Jordan provides over sight of BioZone operations, acquires funding support and leads BioZone public relations activities. Jordan was most recently Manager for Research and Innovation Engagement in the Applied Research division of Centennial College, where he developed research partnerships with companies and other post-secondary institutions in renewable energy and transportation, and coordinated internal funding for faculty-driven research programs. Prior to joining Centennial, he was a group leader in medical device coatings at Interface Biologics and Senior Scientist at the Xerox Research Centre of Canada. Jordan received his BSc from McGill University and his PhD from MIT, both in chemistry, has co-authored a number of academic papers and book chapters, and is a named inventor on over 60 US Patents.
Robert Flick
MASS SPECTROMETRY FACILITY
Robert provides experimental and analytical support for the application of mass spectrometry ranging from high resolution protein identification to small molecule characterization and metabolomics. He has developed a variety of experimental methods for chromatographic separation and subsequent mass spectrometry based detection in order to further the scientific research being conducted in BioZone. He operates under the BioZone Mass Spectrometry Facility providing services to researchers both affiliated and not affiliated with the University of Toronto. Robert obtained an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto.
Robert Lam
PROJECT MANAGER
Robert provides project management support at BioZone, overseeing current and forthcoming large research projects. He brings experience in research, project management and financial accounting having held positions at McMaster University, Affinium Pharmaceuticals, University Health Network (Clinical Genomics Centre; Ontario Cancer Institute), Nobelex Biotech and University of Toronto (Structural Genomics Consortium; Civil and Mineral Engineering) prior to joining the organization. He is a co-author in over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles in solid state chemistry and structural biology. Robert obtained a PhD in Solid State Chemistry from the University of Alberta and recently completed a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Toronto. When not working, he enjoys photography, cooking and travelling.
Vinthiya Param
RESEARCH GRANT & PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR
Vinthiya assists with the administration of various grants and projects within Biozone. She holds a Masters’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Auckland and has previous experience as a Research Administrator at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto.
Endang (Susie) Susilawati
LAB MANAGER
Susie is an experienced researcher who joined BioZone in 2009, bringing a wealth of technical experience to the task of managing lab operations. She holds a Master’s degree in Crop and Soil Sciences from Michigan State University and was a researcher at the Indonesian Oil Palm Research Institute, where she worked on improving palm oil quality. Her more recent work focused on biodegradation of contaminated soil, sediment and wastewater in aerobic and anaerobic conditions.
Susie manages daily lab activities in BioZone and provides students and researchers with information regarding safety, training, supplies and ordering. She is responsible for the maintenance of shared equipment and student lab duties.
