May. 25, 2023Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) WorkshopBasic concepts of LCA for a product will be explained through the estimation of the environmental footprint from the different stages of a product’s life cycle including extraction, production, transportation, and use. Hands-on experience with the GREET life cycle analysis model used for fuels and energy systems. Participants will learn the basics of the GREET model to estimate the carbon intensity (a measure of GHG emissions per unit of fuel produced) of various fossil and biofuel pathways. The impact of changes in various production parameters on the carbon intensity of a fuel pathway will be explored.
