Sample Drop Off Procedure

  • For all internal samples:
    • All consultation will be conducted virtually, either via e-mail, Teams or Zoom.
    • All sample drop-offs are to be scheduled ahead of time with the Mass Spec Facility Staff to control/limit the number of visitors/researchers to the facility, and to prevent multiple sample drop-offs at the same time or within a short time frame.
    • Individuals dropping off samples must have completed all required Departmental Training.
    • Individuals dropping off samples must be wearing a proper face covering as per the regulations for working in Wallberg.
    • Facility staff will wear PPE (mask, gloves, labcoat, and eyewear) when receiving samples.
    • Upon arrival of the student/researcher with their samples at the scheduled time, the Mass Spec Facility Staff will open the door and move back so that samples can be dropped off
    • A space near the front of the room (by the sink) has been set up to facilitate contactless drop-off of samples.
  • For External samples:
    • Samples may be shipped to: 200 College Street, Room 405, Toronto, Ontario, M5S3E5.  Care of Robert Flick
    • Sample drop-off may be scheduled with Mass Spec Facility Staff
    • Individuals dropping off samples must be wearing a face covering for nose and mouth.
    • Facility staff will wear PPE (mask, and eyewear) when receiving samples
    • Upon Arrival to the exterior of the Wallberg Building at the designated time, clients will contact Mass Spec Facility Staff via the agreed upon method.
    • Facility Staff will meet clients at the building entrance and will take receipt of samples.
